About the Hacker Typer
Mash any keys and watch realistic-looking code pour onto a terminal, like a hacker in the movies. It is pure fiction: no real commands run and nothing connects to anything.
How Hacker Typer works
The page holds a long block of real-looking source code. Every key you press reveals the next few characters, so random typing looks like fast, fluent coding. Nothing is executed and nothing connects to the internet; it is text appearing on a page.
Speed sets how many characters each key press reveals. Higher speeds produce whole lines at a time, which looks dramatic in videos.
Making the effect convincing
Go fullscreen, dim the room and type steadily rather than mashing keys. The three-press Alt and Caps Lock shortcuts bring up 'ACCESS GRANTED' and 'ACCESS DENIED' banners for the big moment. For a screen that looks like a breach in progress, switch to the Hacked Screen Simulator.
How to use the Hacker Typer
Click the terminal, then type anything on your keyboard or tap the screen on mobile.
Change the speed to control how many characters appear per key press.
Press Alt three times for “ACCESS GRANTED”, or Caps Lock three times for “ACCESS DENIED”.
Press F11 or the Fullscreen button for the full effect, and Esc to exit.
